প্রফেসর শঙ্কুর আরেকটি গল্প – ওসাকার একটি গবেষণাগারে শঙ্কু সহ পৃথিবীবিখ্যাত সাত বিজ্ঞানী তিন বছর পরিশ্রম করে একটি যন্ত্র দাঁড় করান, যা পঞ্চাশ কোটি প্রশ্নের উত্তর নিখুঁতভাবে দিতে পারে, এমনকি তুলনা বা বিবেচনাও করতে পারে। সোজা ভাষায়, একটি উচ্চ ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন কম্পিউটার বানান তারা। তখনকার দিনে এমন একটি যন্ত্র হবে, যা আয়তনে মাত্র একটি ফুটবলের সমান, আর যা মানুষের সাথে ভাষায় তথ্য আদান-প্রদান করবে, তা মানুষের কল্পনার বাইরে ছিল, যে কারণে যন্ত্রটি বেশ সাড়া ফেলে দেয়। অবশ্য শঙ্কু আর তার সহকর্মীরা কল্পনাই করতে পারেননি যে তাদেরই বানানো যন্ত্রের এমন কিছু ক্ষমতা থাকতে পারে, যা তাদের অনুভাবনের বাইরে।

Another of Professor Shanku’s stories – After three years of work at a research institute in Osaka, a team of seven scientists, engineers and inventors – including Shanku – successfully build what they view as essentially a huge data bank with arithmetic and logic capabilities. At the time, such a machine, barely larger than a football and voice controlled, was nothing short of a revolution. Shanku and his colleagues had reasons enough to be proud, but they realized little that their computer was far more capable than they imagined.
